Questions readers ask

What does an immigration consultant cost in Singapore?
Consultants set their own fees, and most quote after an assessment rather than publish a price. Two providers on this page publish fees, from about S$2,450 for a single permanent residence application at one end to packages from S$12,000 at the other; see their entries. On top of that comes the government's own fee, which is S$100 per applicant for a permanent residence application.
How do I choose one?
Start from your route: a provider that mostly handles permanent residence appeals is a different choice from one that handles entrepreneur passes or investor programmes. Ask who will work on your file, what the service includes, how many attempts it covers, and what happens if the application is refused. Ask for the fee in writing. Be wary of anyone who promises approval: the decision is the government's, not the consultant's.
What should I check before signing?
That the company is on the ACRA register under the name on the contract; that it holds an employment agency licence if it will place you with an employer; that the fee, the scope and any refund terms are written down; and that the time frames it gives match the government's published processing times. Every entry on this page shows the provider’s UEN, its Unique Entity Number, which you can look up free on ACRA’s BizFile search.
