How we choose

Every list on Ranked SG is the editorial team’s pick based on our evaluation. Nothing on a page is scored, and the order is not produced by a formula.

What we weigh

The criteria are set for each category, because what matters when choosing a mortgage broker is not what matters when choosing a dentist. Each ranking page names its own criteria near the top. They are drawn from what can be checked about the providers on that page: public registers, licences, what a provider says it does on its own pages, whether it publishes its fees, and the languages it works in.

What each entry contains

Each entry gives the provider’s name, its UEN, a line on what it is best for, a short set of facts, the reasons for its place, its languages and its contact details as plain text. Every fact is recorded with its source and the date we checked it. Where a provider’s own pages disagree with each other, or make a claim we could not check, the entry says so or leaves the claim out.

Keeping pages current

Each page shows the date it was last reviewed. Providers’ facts are re-checked every three months. A provider that closes is removed. Providers can write to us about an entry; we check what they tell us before anything changes.

What we do not do

We do not award scores or rank by price. Nothing in an entry is a link to a provider.
