The best tuition centres in Singapore

Eight tuition chains in Singapore that teach the school syllabus, each with ten or more centres on its own site. They are ordered by the number of schools that MOE's list of registered private schools showed under each name on 8 October 2026. MOE tells parents to check that list before enrolling, and says it is based on details the schools last provided, so every entry gives both the list's count and the provider's own. Each entry also gives the levels and subjects taught, what is published on fees, class sizes and trial lessons, and how to reach the provider.

What we weigh for this list

For this category we weigh:

  • Whether MOE's list of registered private schools shows schools under its name, and how many
  • How many centres it runs, by its own site
  • Which levels and subjects it teaches to the school syllabus
  • Whether it publishes its fees, registration fee and deposit, and whether GST is included
  • What it says about class size
  • Whether a trial lesson is offered, and on what terms
  • How long it has been registered with ACRA, set against what its own site says
  • Whether an address, a phone line and an email address are published

1. Mind Stretcher

Best for Checking before you enrol: 26 schools under its name on MOE's list, and a fee table for every level

MOE's list of registered private schools shows 26 schools under the name Mind Stretcher Learning Centre, as read on 8 October 2026, more than under any other name on the list. MOE's page says the list is based on details last provided by the schools, and that registration is not an endorsement of the quality of a school's courses.

Its locations page lists 30 locations: 27 Mind Stretcher centres, two Mind Sparks student care centres that hold its tuition classes, and its online classes. Of the 27 centres, 26 are at an address that MOE's list shows under its name.

Classes run from pre-kindergarten to Secondary 4: English, mathematics, science and Chinese for primary pupils, and for secondary students also additional mathematics, pure physics, pure chemistry and combined science. Classes are also held online.

Its published fees for academic year 2026, with GST: Primary 1 to 3, S$239.80 for four weekday lessons of two hours and S$261.60 at weekends; Primary 4 to 6, S$261.60 and S$283.40; Secondary 1 to 4, S$283.40 and S$305.20. The registration fee is S$76.30 and the deposit is five academic weeks' fees per subject.

Says its average class size is 8 to 10 students and that some popular classes may be larger. A one-lesson trial costs S$70 before GST, and a one-week trial of one lesson per course costs S$107.91 with GST. Its fees page says missed lessons can be made up at any of its centres.

ACRA's dataset shows Mind Stretcher Learning Centre Pte Ltd was incorporated on 6 June 1997. Its site says parents and students have trusted it since 2002, and the National Library Board's profile of the company says it was established in 2002, in a bomb shelter below an HDB block in Bishan.

Mind Stretcher is first because MOE's list shows 26 schools under its name, more than under any other name on the list, and 26 of the 27 centres on its own site are at an address the list shows. A parent can find almost every one of its centres on the official list before enrolling.

It also publishes what a parent needs before a first call: a fee table for every level with GST included, the registration fee, the deposit, an average class size of 8 to 10 and the price of a trial. Four weekday lessons at Primary 4 to 6 cost S$261.60. Its site dates the business from 2002, while ACRA shows the company was incorporated in 1997; the entry gives both.

2. Mavis Tutorial Centre

Best for One provider from kindergarten to junior college, with centres in the north, north-east, east and west

MOE's list of registered private schools shows 16 schools under the name Mavis Tutorial Centre, as read on 8 October 2026. MOE's page says the list is based on details last provided by the schools, and that registration is not an endorsement of the quality of a school's courses.

Its site lists 17 centres in the north, north-east, east and west of Singapore, and a head office in Tampines.

Classes run from kindergarten to junior college, including the Integrated Programme: English, mathematics, science and Chinese, and at upper levels additional mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, H2 mathematics and H2 chemistry.

No fee table was found on the pages of its site that were read. Its 2027 registration page speaks of monthly fees, with early-bird discounts of up to 25%.

Its Ang Mo Kio Hub page says classes average 6 to 12 students. It offers a free trial lesson, with terms, and recorded lessons for a student who misses a class.

ACRA's dataset shows Mavis Tutorial Centre Pte. Ltd. was incorporated on 9 October 2007, and an earlier business of the same name registered on 30 May 1986, now terminated. Its site says it has taught since 1986 and has had over 500,000 students.

Mavis is second: MOE's list shows 16 schools under its name, and its own site lists 17 centres. It teaches from kindergarten to junior college, so a child can stay with one provider from level to level; ask which levels the centre near you teaches. ACRA's records fit its claim to have taught since 1986: a business of the same name was registered on 30 May 1986.

What it does not publish is its fees. No fee table was found on the pages read, so ask for the monthly fee, the deposit and the notice needed to withdraw in writing. One of its centre pages says classes average 6 to 12 students, and it offers a free trial lesson, with terms.

3. Aspire Hub

Best for Coaching in groups of 4 to 8, from Primary 1 to JC2

MOE's list of registered private schools shows 11 schools under the Aspire Hub name (as Aspire Hub Education Centre, Education School or Education Academy), as read on 8 October 2026. MOE's page says the list is based on details last provided by the schools, and that registration is not an endorsement of the quality of a school's courses.

Its branches page lists 16 branches; other pages of its site say 15. ACRA's dataset lists more than 20 live companies under the Aspire Hub name, most of them named after a branch. The UEN shown is that of the company with the same name as the school at its Alexandra Village branch, which MOE's list marks as a main address.

Primary 1 to JC2, with IP and IB classes: English, mathematics, science and Chinese at primary level; at secondary level also physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, social studies and literature; at JC level General Paper, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and economics.

Its 2027 package rates for one subject, per term of 12 lessons, before its early-bird discount: for Academic Coaching, S$1,104 at Primary 1 to 4, S$1,224 at Primary 5 and 6, S$1,368 at Secondary 1 and 2, S$1,428 at Secondary 3 to 5 and S$1,752 at JC level; for its Tutorial Series, S$828 at Primary 1 to 4. The standard registration fee is S$80. The page does not say whether GST is included.

Teaches in two formats: Academic Coaching in groups of 4 to 8 students with two-hour lessons, and a Tutorial Series of up to 12 students with 1.5-hour lessons. Enrolment starts with a Personal Learning Review, priced at S$92 at Primary 1 to 4. It also offers a trial class and live online classes.

ACRA's dataset shows Aspire Hub Education School Pte. Ltd. was incorporated on 3 April 2008.

Aspire Hub is third, with 11 schools under its name on MOE's list against 16 branches on its own branches page. It teaches in groups of 4 to 8, which it calls Academic Coaching, as well as in classes of up to 12, from Primary 1 to JC2, with IP and IB classes.

It publishes its package rates by level: S$1,104 for a term of 12 two-hour coaching lessons at Primary 1 to 4, which works out at S$92 a lesson, and S$1,752 at JC level. Two things to ask about: the page does not say whether the rates include GST, and the site gives its branch count as 15 on some pages and 16 on others. ACRA lists a separate company for most branches; the UEN shown here belongs to the one named like its Alexandra Village school.

Best for Parents who want the terms in writing, at the highest published fees on this page

MOE's list of registered private schools shows 7 schools under the name The LearningLab Education Centre, as read on 8 October 2026. MOE's page says the list is based on details last provided by the schools, and that registration is not an endorsement of the quality of a school's courses.

Its site lists 10 centres: United Square, Serene Centre, Rochester Mall, Marine Parade, Century Square, Tampines Mall, Jem, Choa Chu Kang Centre, The Seletar Mall and The Woodleigh Mall.

Fees are billed by the term of 12 to 14 lessons. The one-time registration fee is S$98.10 and the deposit is S$150 per subject.

Says its classes average 8 students in the early years, 10 at lower primary, 12 at upper primary and 13 at secondary and JC level. Up to three missed classes a term are replaced, and there is no refund for a missed lesson. Its terms say the deposit is refunded only with one calendar month's written notice of withdrawal before the last day of the term. A trial lesson costs the fee of one regular lesson.

ACRA's dataset shows The LearningLab Education Centre Pte Ltd was incorporated on 2 May 2001. Its site marks 25 years in 2026 and says its teachers have more than 300 hours of in-house training.

The Learning Lab is fourth by the count on MOE's list: 7 schools under its name, against 10 centres on its own site. Of the providers on this page that publish fees, it charges the most at every level: four weekday lessons at Primary 5 or 6 cost S$634.40 with GST, against S$261.60 at the first entry on this page.

It also puts a good deal in writing. Its site states the average class size at each level, from 8 to 13, says up to three missed classes a term are replaced, and its terms say the S$150 deposit per subject comes back only with one calendar month's written notice. It teaches from Nursery 2 to JC2, and ACRA shows the company was incorporated on 2 May 2001.

Stalford is fifth: MOE's list shows 5 schools under its name, while its own locations page lists 20 learning centres. Its other pages say 21 and 23, and ACRA lists a separate company for many centres. The UEN in this entry belongs to the company named like its Jurong Point school, which is on MOE's list.

It teaches from preschool to junior college and publishes per-subject fees for secondary and JC classes: S$320 for four lessons at lower secondary, S$340 at upper secondary and S$460 at JC level, before GST, with a deposit of four lessons' fees. No primary fee and no class size were found on the pages read, so ask for both. Two Stalford businesses were registered with ACRA in 1998, which fits its 'since 1998'.

EduFirst lists 28 locations on its own site, but MOE's list shows one school under its name, at Northpoint City, which is why it is sixth. ACRA's dataset shows AGrader Learning Centre Pte. Ltd. was incorporated on 17 May 2013. Its site speaks of 14 years of teaching experience and of more than 30,000 students taught.

AGrader is eighth because MOE's list shows no school under its name, though its own site lists 20 centres. Questions readers ask

What does tuition cost in Singapore?
Five of the eight providers on this page publish fees. For four weekday lessons in Primary 6, the published fees with GST run from S$261.60 at the lowest to S$634.40 at the highest; a third provider charges S$294.30 a month. In Secondary 4 the published range with GST is S$283.40 to S$667.08, and another provider charges S$340 for four upper secondary lessons before GST. At JC level the published fees are S$460 before GST at one provider and S$701.96 with GST at another, each for four lessons. One provider prices by the term: S$1,224 for 12 lessons at Primary 5 and 6. Expect a one-time registration fee, S$54.50 to S$98.10 with GST where it is published, and a deposit: five weeks' fees per subject at one provider, one month's fee at another, four lessons' fees at a third and S$150 per subject at a fourth. Three providers publish no fees. Ask each for the full cost in writing: the fee, GST, materials, the registration fee and the deposit.
How do I choose one?
Start with the centre, not the brand. MOE's page on enrolling tells parents to make sure that the school is registered with MOE, that it has permission to offer the course and that its teachers are allowed to teach it, and says you can ask to see the registration certificate and the letters of permission. MOE also says registration is not an endorsement or accreditation of quality, so the rest is yours to compare. Look at what each provider commits to in writing. Stated class sizes on this page run from groups of 4 to 8 to an average of 13. A trial lesson is free at two providers and costs the fee of one regular lesson at another. Ask how missed lessons are made up and how much notice a withdrawal needs. Then pick a centre the child can reach easily every week: each entry says how many centres the provider lists and which levels and subjects it teaches.
What should I check before paying?
First, the registration of the centre you will attend. MOE says a private school that offers education to 10 or more persons, including a tuition or enrichment centre that teaches school subjects, must register with it. Search MOE's list of private schools by the school's name, and if the centre is not there, ask it to show its registration certificate. Second, the contract. MOE says refunds of deposits and fees are governed by the school's policy and your contract with it, and that if a dispute cannot be settled with the school you may approach CASE or the Small Claims Tribunal. Ask what the deposit is, when it is returned and how much notice a withdrawal needs: one provider on this page returns the deposit only with one calendar month's written notice. Ask whether the fees include GST. Every entry on this page shows the provider's UEN, the Unique Entity Number, which you can look up free on ACRA's BizFile search.
